On Saturday 8 May at 1.30pm the Queen’s Guide, Cedric Robinson, will lead RNLI supporters on the famous Cross Bay Walk across the beautiful sands of Morecambe Bay.
The walk is approximately 8 miles long and takes around 3 hours. We will be leaving Arnside Promenade at 1.30pm and you can return by the nine-minute train journey from Kents Bank, alternatively you can leave your car at Kents Bank and take the train to Arnside for the start. Do dress comfortably and appropriately for the weather and the walk – remember that depending on tides the water might come above your knees so wear comfortable walking shoes that you don’t mind getting wet!
On arrival please check in at the registration point on the promenade. The registration fee is £5 person (accompanied children free) and we would be delighted if you could also obtain sponsorship (or stick some more money in the pot!).
T-Shirts are available to order for a suggested donation of £6 and are available in a Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large.
An adult must accompany all children between the ages of 8 ““ 16. You must ensure that you are fit and able to participate in this walk, which lasts for approximately 3 hours. Please ensure you carry plenty of water and sunscreen, as there is little shelter in the bay.
The walk may be cancelled if the weather conditions are not appropriate for this event. We’ll be in contact with the RNLI if we feel the event may not be going ahead.
There’s an information sheet available and also a booking form. Please complete the booking form and give it, along with your registration fee, to Andrew who will be collecting them up and forwarding them to the RNLI.
