Many thanks to the 18 members who supported the club during the last two weeks with the various school sailing days.
Over 150 young people from various special and primary schools attended. The children really appreciated the opportunity to come to Bolton and enjoy the sailing. Every child regardless of their disability sailed with the Access boats being used every day. The weather was good with many fine sailing days and we only lost half a day to very strong winds.
Belmont is known for its variety of wildlife in and around it’s shores but two new and unusual species made an appearance during Mr Benson’s world tour, a Blue Shark near Waterhead and a Crocodile at Farm! Both were very friendly and no one was eaten!
The days were short but intense. The reward was to be seen on every young persons face, the joy, pleasure and excitement was very evident.
As Commodore I wish to thank all the members who willingly gave their time, patience and effort to make these day such an outstanding success.
The club is very lucky to have you as its members. Thank you.
Warren.
