FORMAL NOTICE OF SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING
Please accept this email as formal notice of a Special General Meeting (SGM) of Bolton Sailing Club, which will be held as follows:
Date: Tuesday, 15 September 2026
Time: 7:00 PM
Location: Online via Zoom (link on membership portal)
The purpose of the Special General Meeting is for the Committee to present proposed amendments to the Club Constitution in relation to the following membership categories:
- Sailability Membership – proposed description and wording
- Family Membership – proposed description and wording
The proposed amendments will be presented to members for consideration and, subject to the required quorum being present, members will be asked to vote on whether the proposed changes should be approved.
Supporting Documentation
All relevant documentation relating to the proposed constitutional amendments is on the membership portal. Members are encouraged to read the documentation carefully before the meeting to ensure that they are able to make an informed decision when casting their vote.
Members Eligible to Vote
Voting rights at the Special General Meeting are as follows:
- Full Members (Category A) – 1 vote
- Family Members (Lead Member) – 1 vote
- Honorary Members – 1 vote
Only members entitled to vote under the Club Constitution will be eligible to participate in the voting process.
Chairing of the Meeting
The meeting will be chaired by Matthew Watkiss, with support from Leanne Pilkington and Matthew Scoffield.
We strongly encourage all eligible members to make every effort to attend this important meeting. Your participation is particularly important as the proposed changes require member approval and the meeting must achieve the required quorum.
Please take the time to review the documentation and attend the meeting so that you can consider the proposals and cast your vote accordingly.
