The start of the season has been fantastic with some great racing across the fleets. This has been enhanced by the excellent training provided by Mark, Andy, Tony and Mike on 1st May which hopefully will encourage other single-handed sailors at the club to join our fleet. Possibly it already has, last Sunday we welcomed Richard Stonecliffe to the fleet in Clive’s old boat and a day on which we saw two races with sixteen boats out!
As I said earlier in the year, we are compiling an average result of races sailed to determine the fleets. Chris and I have decided that we will collect this over the year and apply these results at the end of the 2021 season ready for 2022. I’ll try and get an update every month or so in order that you can all judge your progress. Well done to Andy, Ian and Jasper who are at the top of their fleets.
Finally, please make sure you have the Bolton Supernova Open in your diaries - Saturday 25th September. I’m sure this will be a great event and let’s also do what we can to support the GP Open the following day by way of safety cover, galley slaves etc.
