In recognition of supporting new sailors at Bolton Sailing Club

John has been a member of Bolton Sailing Club, always sailing a GP14, for over 30 years. Throughout that time he has been very active in promoting the GP fleet by encouraging new members to have a go, taking them out on taster sessions, coaching both helm and crew, help with rigging, advice on tuning and even carrying out repairs on their GP. The first race on a Sunday at Bolton is specifically for race training to encourage new members to join in. John regularly sails that race either as a helm or crew with a novice in his own GP or theirs. Over the years John has helped introduce many sailors to the delights of GP sailing and continues to do so even at the young age of 75.
